Co-Founder & Guide
Liz is a proud Chicagoan and the co-founder and lead tour guide at La Milpa Food Tours. When she arrived in Mexico she only planned to stay for a few months but Mexico City´s vibrant street culture and delicious eats have kept her here for the past 8 years. She is passionate about cooking, eating and experimenting in the kitchen and loves to share her knowledge of Mexican cuisine with visitors. She is particularly interested in delving into Mexican food history and has growing collection of antique Mexican cookbooks. When she’s not talking about food she is roaming around Mexico City on foot listening to podcasts or jamming out to soul, hip hop, r&b and salsa. Follow her Mexican food blog at La Cerda y la Cebollita where she shares her adventures with Mexican food.
Lydia is a freelance writer and translator based out of Mexico City. She has been blogging and writing about Mexican food, culture, and history for over a decade, including authoring a guidebook to her neighborhood, Mexico City Streets: La Roma. You can usually find her out on the street eating tacos and instagramming about life in Mexico’s capital.
